Experience the exceptional quality of eh taylor small batch, a distinguished bourbon meticulously crafted at the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery. Derived from Mash Bill #1, this bourbon shares its heritage with iconic blends like Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, and George T. Stagg. With a lower rye content than mash bill #2, this bourbon delivers a sweet, rich flavor profile. Expect delightful notes of caramel corn, mingled with hints of butterscotch, and a touch of licorice. The finish is soft, warm, and gently accented with nuances of pepper and tobacco.

Historical Legacy: eh taylor small batch represents the vision of a true pioneer in the bourbon industry. In 1869, E.H. Taylor acquired a small distillery in Frankfurt, Kentucky, situated on the Kentucky River. Originally called The Old Fire Copper Distillery, Taylor transformed it with modern equipment such as copper fermentation tanks, advanced grain grinding machinery, and unique columnar stills. Crucially, Taylor introduced innovative aging techniques, using climate-controlled Rick houses, setting his bourbon apart from others that relied on additives like juices, syrups, acids, and tobacco to enhance flavor.

In collaboration with Treasury Secretary John G. Carlisle, Taylor played a pivotal role in establishing the Bottled-In-Bond Act of 1897. This legislation ensured that spirits labeled as "Bonded" or "Bottled-in-Bond" were produced by a single distiller, at one distillery, during one distillation season. These spirits were also supervised by the U.S. government for at least four years and bottled at a minimum of 100 proof, in federally bonded warehouses. The eh taylor small batch bourbon, crafted from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel at over 125 proof, embodies the traditional bourbon-making techniques of the pre-Prohibition era when Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. owned the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
